A traditional shingle-style home in a historic district where modern conveniences had to be integrated without compromising the architectural vernacular. Our first collaboration with interior designer Allison Babcock of Allison Babcock Design, brought an understanding of how to balance period-appropriate details with modern-day living. This project required the navigation of preserving original windows and woodwork, while delivering comfort and functionality, key factors that our clients expected, under a non-negotiable confined deadline. This project demanded equal parts historical knowledge and creative problem-solving for flawless execution. The finished residence presents both timelessness and momentary, proving that tradition and innovation are not opposing forces.
